Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
SilkSeam keeps order records for 7 years and sells no personal information.
Across silkseam.com, email, and phone
This policy covers silkseam.com, support emails, phone calls, and the Contact page form. CHARITIE WILLIS FUNY LLC, trading as SilkSeam, decides how the data is used. Each update gets a new date at the top. A new tool that would receive customer data is added here before it goes live.
Personal information: anything that identifies a person, like a name, email address, or street address.
Without any sale of data
SilkSeam doesn’t sell personal information. Rhode Island law asks stores to name the third parties that buy customer data; that list is empty, now and planned. Nothing is shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. Contact details from orders are never rented or traded.
From the checkout form
To place an order, a buyer types in a name, an email address for receipts, and a phone number the carrier can call. Billing and shipping addresses come next. The dresses, sizes, and colors picked are saved with them. It’s a guest checkout with no account to create. Support messages and photos are stored with the order. Checkout never asks for a Social Security number, a date of birth, a driver’s license, health details, or a precise location.
From each visit
The server logs each request: IP address, browser, device, page, referring page, and time. Cloudflare, the network service in front of silkseam.com, reads the same details to filter attacks. Cloudflare’s Web Analytics script also counts page views and load times, with the browser, device type, and referring page, and it sets no cookies. No visit is followed across other sites.
From payment companies and carriers
Stripe and PayPal send back the payment result (approved or declined), a fraud-screening score, and a way to recognize the method, like a card’s last four digits. Carriers report scan events up to delivery. Both reports stay with the order.
To a partner in China
Orders are packed in China. For that, the fulfillment partner gets four things: the name, the shipping address, the phone number, and the list of dresses. It uses them only to pack and label the box. While the data sits in China, Chinese law applies to it.
For order work only
Each detail has one job. The address and phone number get the box delivered. The email address carries the confirmation, the shipping email, and support replies. Billing details let Stripe or PayPal charge and refund. Order records are kept for tax and accounting. SilkSeam sends no newsletter and no marketing email.
With six kinds of companies
The partner in China that packs orders: the recipient’s name, address, phone number, and the dresses.
Carriers: name, address, and phone number, for delivery. A box often moves from an international carrier to a US carrier.
Stripe and PayPal, reached through a payment gateway service: billing details and the amount.
Brevo, the email service: email addresses and the text of order and support emails.
The web host and Cloudflare: technical data from each visit, plus Cloudflare’s page-view counts.
A government agency gets data only with a subpoena, warrant, or other legal order.
In service-provider categories
California’s rules ask stores to list the categories shared with service providers and contractors. SilkSeam’s are identifiers (name, email, phone, and postal address), commercial information (dresses ordered, amounts paid, and refunds), and internet activity (IP address and request data). No data broker or ad network is on the list.
Without advertising uploads
SilkSeam sends no customer data to advertising platforms. No hashed email or phone list goes to an ad network, and no conversion data with customer details leaves the site.
Up to 7 years
Order and payment records: 7 years.
Support emails and photos: 2 years.
Server logs: 30 days.
Data is deleted at the end of each period, not archived.
Behind HTTPS and processor fields
Every page loads over HTTPS. Card numbers go into the payment gateway’s card form and never reach SilkSeam’s servers, and PayPal sign-ins stay with PayPal. Only the people who run SilkSeam can open order records. The partner sees the shipping fields only. If a breach exposes personal information, affected customers get an email, as Indiana Code 24-4.9 requires.
On cookies
The cart runs on WooCommerce cookies, which also keep the checkout session open. The card form and PayPal’s window can set fraud-check cookies of their own. Cloudflare can add a short cookie while it checks for bots. There are no advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or social media pixels, so there’s no cookie banner. A Global Privacy Control signal is honored as an opt-out.
Outside AI training
No personal information goes into training an AI model, chatbots included. None of it is sold or licensed for that use either.
By request: access, correction, or deletion
You can see what SilkSeam holds about you, correct it, or have it deleted, in any state. Requests go to contact@silkseam.com or +1 (812) 234-9087. SilkSeam confirms within 3 business days and replies in full within 45 days. If a case needs longer, a notice goes out and the deadline moves once, by another 45 days. No ID document is needed; the request only has to come from the email or phone on the order. Records that tax law requires can’t be deleted early.
On appeal
A refused request comes with the reason. Reply to that email to appeal. SilkSeam answers an appeal within 60 days.
With California’s extra rights
California residents can know, access, correct, and delete their data, and opt out of sale or sharing. They can also limit the use of sensitive data, without being treated differently. SilkSeam neither sells nor shares data and collects no sensitive data, so the opt-out has nothing to stop. Each opt-out is still logged. The Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page has the steps.
In the other state privacy laws
Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia have similar laws in force in 2026. SilkSeam handles every request the same way, wherever the customer lives.
Under 13: no data
The store is for adults, and no data from children under 13 is collected on purpose. A parent who finds such data can write to support, and SilkSeam deletes it.
Off silkseam.com
Once a link leads away, to a carrier’s tracking page or PayPal’s window, that company’s privacy policy takes over.
To support for privacy questions
Next: opt-outs have their own page, Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Support: contact@silkseam.com or +1 (812) 234-9087, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern Time. Privacy requests are confirmed within 3 business days, and other messages get a reply within 1 business day.
