Ahead of an order
How do SilkSeam sizes run?
Sizes run XS to 4XL, and most designs come in S to XL. Each listing has a chart of the dress’s own measurements. To compare a chart with a dress already in your closet, follow the Size Guide.
What does the Stretch line on a listing mean?
It rates how much the fabric gives: None, Slight, Medium, or High. With None or Slight, match the chart closely.
Is any SilkSeam dress made of silk?
None is listed as silk. The store is called SilkSeam, but the fabric lines read polyester, acrylic, viscose, or a rayon blend, and two knit listings don’t state a fiber content.
Which lengths does the catalog carry?
Mini, above the knee, knee length, below the knee, midi, and maxi, plus one long sweater dress. Each listing gives the length in inches.
On delivery
How many business days until a dress arrives?
12-15 business days from the order day: 2-3 at the partner’s warehouse in China and 10-12 with the carrier. The same-day line is 5:30 PM Eastern Time. The Shipping Policy has the details.
What does delivery cost?
$6.90 per order under $99, and $0 at $99 or more. No single dress reaches $99, but two dresses at $49.99 or more each do.
Where does a SilkSeam box ship from?
China. A fulfillment partner packs it at its warehouse there.
Will the carrier ask for customs fees?
No. Duties are paid before the box leaves China, and $0 is due at the door.
Does SilkSeam ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or PO boxes?
No. Only street addresses in the 48 contiguous states plus DC get deliveries.
How do I track a box?
The shipping email has the tracking link. The Order Tracking page works too, with the confirmation number and email. The carrier may need up to 3 business days to post the first scan.
For returns and refunds
How many days are there to ask for a return?
30 days from delivery. The request has to arrive inside those 30 days. The Refund and Returns Policy has every step.
Who pays return postage?
Change of mind means the return postage is on the customer. For a damaged, faulty, wrong, or not-as-described dress, SilkSeam pays, and the dress usually stays with the customer. Restocking is free on every return.
Where does a returned dress end up?
At the address that comes with the return number, at most 1 business day after the request. Nothing goes to the New Albany address.
How soon is a return refunded?
SilkSeam sends the refund no later than 7 business days after the returned dress arrives and passes the check. Banks and PayPal can take up to 10 more business days to show it.
Can an order be canceled?
Yes, within 8 hours of placing it. The full amount comes back within 2 business days.
At checkout
Which payment methods work?
PayPal, and Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover cards. The Payment Policy lists what isn’t accepted.
When is the card charged?
The full amount due is charged to the card or PayPal account the moment checkout is completed.
Is sales tax added on top of the price?
Where the delivery state requires it, as its own line before payment.
